The Super Bowl is not just about the game. It’s also about the parties, and no Super Bowl party is complete without some good cocktails and recipes.

With the New England Patriots taking on the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51, Rams Fangirl and I want to make sure you have themed cocktails no matter who you’re rooting for. We brought in chef and party planner Annie Campbell to teach us how to make her delicious creations, The Hot-Lanta Julep and The New Englandah. The Hot-Lanta Julep: For Atlanta Falcons Fans (from the Kitchen of Annie Campbell)
Makes one drink, multiply as needed the ingredients
Hot-Lanta Julep cocktail (Super Bowl drinks)

Hot-Lanta Julep Cocktail
  • 1.5 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 Teaspoons sugar
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 5 dashes habanero peach bitters (recipe below)
  • lime La Croix or club soda
  • ice
  • lime wedges, for garnish
Habanero Peach Bitters
  • 1 bottle Fee Brother’s peach bitters
  • 1 habanero pepper, sliced vertically in quarters

Hot-Lanta Julep Cocktail
  • 1.5 ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 2 Teaspoons sugar
  • 8 mint leaves
  • 5 dashes habanero peach bitters (recipe below)
  • lime La Croix or club soda
  • ice
  • lime wedges, for garnish
Habanero Peach Bitters
  • 1 bottle Fee Brother’s peach bitters
  • 1 habanero pepper, sliced vertically in quarters
Hot-Lanta Julep cocktail (Super Bowl drinks)
Instructions
Hot-Lanta Julep Cocktail
  1. Combine the tequila, lime juice, sugar, mint leaves and habanero peach bitters with a handful of ice in a shaker.
  2. Shake or stir and dump the contents into a fresh glass.
  3. Top with a splash of lime la croix or club soda and a lime wedge.
  4. Enjoy!
Habanero Peach Bitters
  1. Take off the lid and top of the peach bitters and place the sliced habanero pepper into the bottle. Replace top.
Tips
  1. The habanero peach bitters can be made in advance and will keep for at least six months. The bitters will get hotter in time, so remove the habanero chilis if they become too spicy.

  • 1.5 ounces Vodka
  • 1.5 ounces cranberry shrub (recipe below)
  • .5 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Sam Adams Hopscape Beer
  • ice
Cranberry shrub
  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • juice of two lemons

  • 1.5 ounces cranberry shrub (recipe below)

  • Sam Adams Hopscape Beer

  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • juice of two lemons

Instructions
The New Englandah Cocktail
  1. Combine the vodka, cranberry shrub and lime juice with a handful of ice in a shaker.
  2. Shake or stir and then pour everything into a fresh glass.
  3. Top with an inch of the Sam Adams Hopscape.
  4. Enjoy!
Cranberry Shrub
  1. Combine the cranberries, sugar, apple cider vinegar and lemon juice in a saucepan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and simmer until the berries start to pop, about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat, strain and let cool completely.
Tips
  1. The cranberry shrub can be made in advance and keeps up to six months in the refrigerator. If you don’t have time to make the shrub, you can substitute cranberry juice for the cranberry shrub.

Tips:

  • Put out all ingredients with a recipe card for guests to make their own cocktails.
  • If you don’t have time to make the cranberry shrub, use cranberry juice.
  • Cute straws are always a nice touch.
  • La Croix in a variety of flavors is a great non-alcoholic option for guests.
