What an incredible weekend of football that was! I feel like that was some of the most exciting football divisional playoff matchups I’ve ever seen! The Green Bay-Dallas game was the most-watched NFL divisional playoff game ever on any network, and what a game it was. Now we head to an exciting NFC Championship game in Atlanta as the Falcons face the Packers to determine who will end up in Super Bowl 51.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are coming off an emotional late game win against the Dallas Cowboys. Rodgers went 28 of 43 for an impressive 356 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. For the Packers, it was a solid first half and a weaker second half. Rodgers was without Jordy Nelson but found strong targets in Randall Cobb and Richard Rodgers. Although Rodgers is looking his very best and heads into the NFC Championship an experienced playoff quarterback, it will be a much different match up as he faces the Atlanta defense.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons are coming off a different win as they took a 36-20 victory over the Seahawks at home. Ryan threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns, with FIVE players catching three passes or more. It’s obvious that the NFC Championship will be a serious battle of offenses.
On the other side of the ball, both the Packers’ and the Falcons’ defenses have been struggling for most of the season. The Packers D gave up 429 yards of offense to the Cowboys, and the Falcons gave up 309 yards to the Seahawks. However, the Falcons were able to force two turnovers, while the Packers forced one.
With both teams relying on their passing attacks, the difference in the game could come down to the team that forces multiple turnovers and puts constant pressure on the opposing quarterback.
Rodgers and Ryan have had MVP-like seasons, so get ready for a high scoring and exciting NFC Championship game! You’ll have to watch for my game prediction.
Enjoy the game!
