Tips & Tricks: Halftime Workout

Hey Broncos Country! The last nine weeks of football may have you feeling less than slim. I mean how could you not when there’s a weekly excuse to enjoy a few beers, hot wings, pizza and maybe drown your sorrows in a pint of ice cream when the Broncos haven’t been playing well. So I’ve got a little halftime HIIT workout for you to keep those guilty feels away.

What is a HIIT workout you ask? It stands for high-intensity interval training, and it is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

You can really do it anywhere: Check it out!

15 squats
15 jump squats
Jump rope one minute ( with or with out an actual jumprope)
10 burpees
Bonus round….do a pushup for every turnover the broncos have that week
Do this twice through, three times if you’re feeling strong

Trust me, you’ll be breathing heavy after this workout, and let’s hope that’s the highest you’re heart rate will be on Sunday.
